Árshátíð unglingastigs var haldin í íþróttahúsi Vallaskóla 28. nóvember síðastliðinn.Að venju stóðu fulltrúar Nemendafélags Vallaskóla að undirbúningnum, ásamt valinkunnum samnemendum, og stóðu þau sig með sóma. Yfirumsjón hafði Már Másson kennari og umsjónarmaður félagslífs. Þema árshátíðarinnar í ár var Eldur og Ís.

Nemendum í 10. bekk, sem eru auðvitað í heiðursæti á sínu síðasta skólaári, var boðið upp á hátíðarkvöldverð sem framreiddur var af Andra matreiðslumanni í skólamötuneytinu og starfsfólki hans. Útskriftarnemendur frá því í vor þjónuðu til borðs. Maturinn var með endæmum ljúffengur frá A-Ö.

Ekki er lengur kosið um hina og þessa titlana í 10. bekk. Í stað þess bauð nemendafélagið upp á myndband, Árshátíðarmyndband Vallaskóla 2013-2014. Skemmtu nemendur sér við að horfa á herlegheitin, ásamt grínmyndbandi frá starfsfólki skólans.

Þegar nemendur í 8. og 9. bekk voru mætt til leiks stigu á stokk tvær mjög svo frambærilegar skólahljómsveitir. Annars vegar var það stúlknahljómsveitin The Tension, skipuð stelpum úr 10. bekk eingöngu, og strákabandið Alkul, skipað eingöngu strákum úr 10. bekk.

Útvarpsmaðurinn og skífuþeytirinn Heiðar Austmann hélt svo uppi stuðinu fram til miðnættis. Um miðja skemmtun voru úrslit í herra og ungfrú Vallaskóli kynnt. Og eins og alltaf var sjoppa var í anddyrinu ásamt ljósmyndara þannig að allir gátu tekið mynd af sér með vinum sínum. Þessar myndir eru nú þegar allar komnar á facebook. Gaman að sjá allar þessar hlýlegu myndir enda allir í sínu prúðasta skapi og spariklæddir.
